Dog Bite Fatalities in 2015 from Shelter or Rescue Dogs

According to DogsBite.org, a national dog bite victim's group dedicated to reducing serious dog attacks, in 2015 9% (constituting 3 fatal attacks) were caused by dogs re-homed by shelters or rescues. The state of Texas led all states in lethal dog attacks in 2015 followed by Arkansas, CA, NY, NC and W. VA.

By no means should this stop one from adopting from a shelter or rescue but there should be some very serious so-called “vetting” before adopting, especially if there are to be children in the household.
